The launch of the 2026 Europe Report of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change will be held in Heidelberg on 22nd April 2026 at the Alte Aula of Heidelberg University.
The Lancet Countdown is a comprehensive research report developed by a group of interdisciplinary scientists that developed indicators, monitoring, and adaptation and mitigation strategies related to climate change and health.
The report will be launched in Heidelberg by Prof. Joacim Rocklöv and Prof. Cathryn Tonne, co-Directors of The Lancet Countdown in Europe. The event includes wider participation from the European Environment Agency, the World Health Organization in Europe, national health agencies (e.g., the Robert Koch Institute and Santé publique France), and the Austrian Climate and Health Competence Centre, each of which will be sharing their national success stories.
The event is open to everyone and will be held in both online and in-person formats. The language of the event is English, and live German translation is available for the in-person event.
