World Health Summit 2025: Connecting One Health and Interdisciplinary Research

The World Health Summit took place in Berlin from October 12th to 17th, 2025. Prof. Dr. Joacim Rocklöv, Director of Hei-Planet, participated in the panel discussion on “One Health: The Need for Interdisciplinary Research and Action.” The panel addressed the importance of crossing traditional disciplinary boundaries to tackle global challenges in an integrated manner.

Discussions centered on how cross-disciplinary and transnational collaborations—ranging from anthropology to genomics—can enhance approaches to the One Health framework.

The summit brought together a diverse group of scientists from leading institutions, including the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of London, the Natural History Museum (NHM, UK), the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, France), the Robert Koch Institute (RKI, Germany), and Heidelberg University. Hosted at the RKI in Berlin, the event provided a valuable platform for strengthening partnerships across disciplines and borders.
