Public Lecture at Heidelberg City Hall



Dr. Marina Treskova and Prof. Dr. Joacim Rocklöv from Hei-Planet delivered a public lecture on 22nd July 2025 at Heidelberg City Hall on the theme: “Planet and Pathogens: Data-Driven Insights into the Impact of the Triple Planetary Crisis.”

The talk explored interconnected challenges of:
-Climate change
-Biodiversity loss
-Plastic pollution

Using data-driven insights, the lecture highlighted how environmental stressors influence the emergence and spread of pathogens. The lecture also presented exciting research at Hei-Planet aimed at understanding, predicting, and preparing for our changing world scenario.

This lecture was part of the International Science Summer School, hosted by the City of Heidelberg, which aims to foster global scientific exchange and inspire the next generation of researchers. Selected young scientists from around the world participated in the program, and the event was open to the public as well.
