How to participate in the LILY COST Action
How can I participate in LILY COST Action?
The first step to participate in any COST Action is to create your e-COST profile, if you do not have one yet.
1. In the COST webpage, click on the top right-hand corner “e-COST”.
2. Click on “New to e-COST? Create an account” to begin the registration process.
2. In the next pages, you will be asked to fill out a form containing basic information, such as your email address, name, and institution.
3. You will be asked to fill out information about your scientific field and research area. You can choose to be part of the COST Expert database (optional). In this case, you will need to provide additional information on your background, professional webpage, affiliation, and CV.
4. In the next steps, you will be asked to set a password, sign up for the COST newsletter (optional), and, finally, agree to the COST Code of Conduct.
5. Shortly after that, you will receive an email to confirm your account. After confirming your registration, you will be able to log in with your newly created account at https://e-services.cost.eu.
How to join Working Groups (WGs)
Working Groups (WGs) are the core of the COST Action’s activities. They carry out specific tasks to achieve the objectives outlined in the network’s Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
To join one or more Working Groups, please follow the steps below:
1. After setting up your COST profile, go to the LILY official COST webpage in the tab “Working Groups and Membership“
2. Review the descriptions of the available WGs to determine which ones align with your expertise and interests. The complete description of WGs can be found in the Memorandum of Understanding
3. Click on “Apply to join your Working Groups of interest.”
4. Fill in the form with your relevant background, areas of expertise, and your motivation for joining the selected WGs and your contributions. Applications will be reviewed by the Management Committee, and decisions can take up to 3 months.
