Hei-Planet presented and ran a workshop in November at the Volkswagen Global Issues Convention 2024 in Hannover, Germany, for the PANDA Project with its partners from Thailand and Laos.

The Hei-Planet Hub attended the MOOD project’s final conference on 26 and 27 November 2024.

Our PhD student Julian Heidecke attended the 23rd European Society for Vector Ecology Conference ESOVE 2024 held in Montpellier from 14-17 October 2024.

On Monday 21 October 2024 we successfully kicked off our COST Action on Nature-based Solutions and Health, LILY, with Hei-Planet research group leader Marina Treskova nominated as the Action Chair.

This year we are organizing an interdisciplinary summer school to equip early-career modeling scientists with the main concepts and methods of researching and implementing models for climate-sensitive infectious diseases.

A “Research-to-Policy” event took place on 5 June 2024 at the University of Heidelberg and addressed the topic of microplastic pollution, climate change and antimicrobial resistance. This event, aimed at building a bridge between research and politics and dealing with the complex relationships between these factors and their impact on public health.

The Lancet Countdown (LCD) Europe is an interdisciplinary, international research collaboration that uses 42 indicators to examine the impact of advancing climate change on health in Europe – and the political responses to it. On May 13, 2024, the second report with the latest research results from LCD Europe was published in the renowned journal Lancet Public Health.
